Everyone is familiar with good old-fashioned Trick or Treat – but do you know about its newer cousin, Trunk or Treat? If you don’t, I’m here to tell you all about it and where you can find Trunk or Treat in Waco

About Trunk or Treat in Waco

Trunk or Treat is kind of like the ultimate family-friendly Halloween tailgate. Families and businesses gather their vehicles in a public parking lot and fill their trunks with decadent candy favorites. Then, fully costumed participants can wander from car to car “trick or treating” for candy and other Halloween goodies.

Today, people go all out decorating their cars, trucks, or tractors for the season. Often, there may be prizes for the most elaborate decorations, encouraging participants to go all out. There may also be costume contests, live music and entertainment, and plenty of games and activities that are seasonally appropriate and fun for all ages.

While Trunk or Treat is an entertaining way to warm up for the main event of Trick or Treating on Halloween, it’s also a safe, accessible alternative for families. Maybe you don’t live in a neighborhood where houses are close together, or you have neighbors who don’t appreciate solicitations for candy (even when they have adorable costumes.) Some parents love it simply because it means socializing and hanging out with friends while watching their children closely as they forage for sweets.

While any neighborhood can arrange a Trunk or Treat for family residents, community organizations like schools, churches, or libraries often organize these events. Some even bulk up with additional attractions, making it a great way to pass an evening while getting into the Halloween spirit.

These three Trunk or Treat events in Waco let the whole family enjoy Halloween safely!
