Looking at Christmas lights is a time-honored tradition everywhere in the country. Once the holiday season starts, few things are more cheerful than vibrant displays of Christmas lights. Gone are the days of scouring neighborhoods for the best and brightest houses – now you can easily celebrate the season with these beautiful Waco Christmas lights displays.

4 Waco Christmas Lights Outings Perfect for Bringing the Family Together

Lights of West

Firstly, Lights of West is the passion project of three families who all have a love for Christmas lights. After putting in thousands of DIY hours constructing and decorating the light park, Lights of West has become a beloved tradition for families all over the greater Waco area and beyond. When you visit, you pay per car (prices dependent on how many passengers you have) and then can drive yourself through the light displays.

Or, you can always take in the over one million twinkling Christmas lights on a trailer ride that tours you through the park! On select nights, you can have your picture taken with none other than Santa himself. Plus, ’tis the season to indulge, so be sure to pick up some hot chocolate and their Christmas blend caramel corn to keep things cozy in the car!

Wild Lights | Cameron Park Zoo

Cameron Park Zoo is home to over 1700 animals all year round, but during the Christmas season, it’s also home to thousands of sparkling lights! Their Wild Lights event takes place from the end of November through New Year’s Eve and is the perfect way to celebrate the season.

At night, while the animals are tucked away safely for a good night’s sleep, the zoo comes to life with glowing lights. Carolers wander the zoo bringing Christmas cheer, and tasty treats and refreshments are available, too. Plus, through December 23, families can visit with the one and only Santa Claus, too!

Christmas Lights in the Village | Mayborn Museum

The Mayborn Museum is already a family-friendly treasure in Waco. During the Christmas season, it comes to life with thousands of twinkling Christmas lights. For the fourth year in a row, the Governor Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village will be decorated and draped in beautiful lights you won’t want to miss.

Santa Claus will be on-site for pictures and Christmas list consultations. There’s also a petting zoo and a train to keep little ones excited and entertained! This family-friendly event on the Baylor University campus only runs for two limited weekends, so don’t miss out!
